Leadership transition at Kawaakibi Foundation: Iyad El-Baghdadi steps down, Ahmed Gatnash appointed as Executive Director

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Kawaakibi Foundation, a leading organisation dedicated to human rights in the Middle East and North Africa, announces a significant leadership transition. Iyad El-Baghdadi, the current Executive Director, will be stepping down from his position.

As its co-founder, Iyad has been a driving force behind Kawaakibi Foundation, building up its vision and success. He will continue to be an integral part of the organisation in the role of Chairman, providing strategic guidance and leveraging his extensive experience for Kawaakibi where necessary.

Stepping into the role of Executive Director is Ahmed Gatnash, the co-founder of Kawaakibi Foundation. Ahmed has played a pivotal role in the organisation, previously serving as the Head of Operations.

"While I am stepping back from the day-to-day operations, I remain deeply committed to the mission and vision of Kawaakibi Foundation," Iyad El-Baghdadi said. "I am confident that Ahmed, with his passion and expertise, will lead the organisation to new heights."

As part of this transition, Kawaakibi Foundation is also excited to announce that Iyad will be embarking on a new project, which the foundation is proudly supporting. Further details about this project will be revealed in the coming weeks. Kawaakibi have also made a number of additions to the team, to be announced shortly.

"I am honoured and excited to take on the role of Executive Director at Kawaakibi Foundation," Ahmed Gatnash stated. "I look forward to building on the strong foundations we’ve laid with Iyad and working with the team to achieve our shared goals."

The Kawaakibi Foundation team wish Iyad the best of luck in his new endeavour, and look forward to working with both him and Ahmed in the new capacities.
